CPCC MEMBER UPDATE MARCH 27TH

Hello CPCC Members,

The Board has decided the club will remain open and restart leagues on the evening of Tuesday March 29th; recognizing there is no risk free time to open the club and wanting to maximize our members' opportunities to play. We will have observed a circuit breaker of the club being empty for 5 full days and this restart gives conveners some time to determine rough numbers and schedule accordingly.  We will keep the club open until Sunday April 10th to finish out our instructional programs (Youth and Learn to Curl).  The decision is a reflection of wanting to salvage what we can of the season for the members that are willing and wanting to return while not taking on additional expenses.  As an FYI, the OVSML have moved their Wednesday morning games to Almonte for this week.
Do not feel pressure to return
We understand that many members will not be comfortable returning and no member should feel pressured or compelled to come back.  Your teammates and league mates will understand as we each have to weigh the risks.   Leagues may need to consolidate draw times and move to a drop in format based on numbers.  Conveners have full support in implementing changes best for their returning members.
Covid measures for the remainder of the season
  • The CPCC will ask that members return to the practice of wearing masks when entering the club and in the lounge when not eating and drinking and refrain from playing or wear a mask during play if they are aware of a close contact exposure. We ask members to do this out of respect for the comfort and well being of fellow members not because it is mandated.
  • We remind members to be conscious of physical distance particularly at times when there are more members in the club.
  • We will not be mandating any additional measures or modifications to game play.
  • We remain a members only club so each of you have had your vaccination status checked several times.
  • As per the section above, we expect all members to self monitor and screen for risks before each game.
Looking ahead
The advantage that CPCC has over many local businesses and other organizations is that we are a member owned and run club.  That means that each of you have equal responsibility in the wellbeing and future prosperity of the club.   As you have demonstrated many times during the past two difficult years, I know we can count on each other moving forward.

Best Regards,

CPCC Board of Directors
