Great time at the Learn to Curl Beginner Bonspiel!

On January 4th, CPCC hosted our 6th annual Learn to Curl bonspiel. Anyone that stopped by the club would have been impressed by the “buzz” generated by the 64 new curlers in the club. It was a fun filled day with good curling, good fun, good camaraderie and good food. We had a recipe for success for the day for sure. As is typical with this bonspiel, there was a call for extra volunteers and the response was terrific. Compliments flew around all day on the hospitality the club displayed, the organization of the day and the great yummies coming out of the kitchen. I’m guessing we have “set the hook” on 64 lifers 🙂 CPCC L2C grads figured prominently in the finals with Team Lafleur and Team Wemyss taking the ‘A’ Side and Team Stoddard giving the ‘B’ side a run. Please take a moment to congratulate them when next you see them around the club.
Events at CPCC aren’t usually successful without great volunteers and great sponsors. The club had both, in plenty, on the 4th. Thank you to sponsors Carleton Refrigeration, Heating & Air Conditioning; Patterson Electric; Carleton Place Wine Cellar; Stalwart Brewing Co, Perth Brewery and Carleton Place Jr.A Canadians. Thank you to an amazing kitchen staff that served breakfast, lunch and snacks, a bar staff that was amazing, helpers that went above and beyond to make all of the clubs and curlers comfortable all day long and to the full compliment of coaches who gave up their Saturday to support all of the CPCC L2C teams that were in the event.
