On Saturday, October 10th, 2020, the Carleton Place Curling Club will be hosting the Golf & Curl Open Bonspiel. This event combines the skills of golf and curling into a single day of competition, and is open to all adult curlers (singles or teams) no matter the skill level or club affiliation.

Event details

Bonspiel Format:

  • $200 entry fee per team ($50 per player)
  • Trophy for 1st place and prices for all other curlers
  • Only 16 teams accepted (so register soon)
  • Lunch & snacks included

Bonspiel Rules:

  • Each team will play 8-ends of curling and 9 holes of golf
  • The winning team is decided by subtracting the curling score from the golf score, with the lowest score declared the winner (hence you want to maximize your curling score and minimize your golf score)
  • Curling will be governed by the 5-rock rule, and no team can win by a score differential of more than 8 points
  • Golf is a scramble format, with each player hitting their shot and declaring the best next shot, with all players playing from that point.
  • Golf will be a shotgun start with all teams teeing off from a different hole.
  • Entry fee includes green fees and cart for two players
